Alturos Destinations secures the position as market leader of digital sales solutions in Switzerland with the biggest order in the company’s history so far. Following a challenging tendering phase the company won the contract to create a brand-new web shop for the commercialization of public transportation & leisure services for the Berner railway company BLS.
BLS is the largest private railway in Switzerland and obtained an operating revenue of one billion Swiss francs in the year 2016. In the past year, 62.5 million passengers were transported, representing an increase of more than two million – on average 158.000 people travelled with the BLS per day.
This order that involves several extension stages consists, among other things, of the creation of a new sales platform that will be seamlessly integrated in the current BLS website and with which they can further develop their products and present them effectively.
According to COO Herwig Probst, Alturos got the contract because “we were able to show the BLS something existing and functioning with our innovative brand Peaksolution.” Among others, the renowned Swiss railway companies Jungfraubahn and Matterhorn Gotthardbahn rely on the extensive experience of Alturos, when it comes down to the marketing and selling of their services online. “With their innovative solution and pool of experience, Alturos supports the BLS with the successful allocation of digital customer interfaces”, says Daniel Hofer, Head of Sales BLS.
