With the launch of the new “ÖBB Erlebnisportal” (ÖBB Experience Portal) by ÖBB Rail Tours in December 2025, a newly designed online shop by Alturos Destinations successfully went live – this is our second national solution for sustainable leisure travel after RailAway by SBB. Alturos Destinations and ÖBB Rail Tours have jointly implemented the design and market launch of the new digital sales platform
erlebnistickets.railtours.at, thereby making an important contribution to the further development of sustainable tourist mobility offers.
Digital platform for sustainable experiences
The new shop
erlebnistickets.railtours.at allows winter sports guests to combine rail travel and ski passes in a single booking step and save money in the process – there are discounts on public transport tickets and experiences. A total of 22 winter sports destinations throughout Austria are currently connected, including numerous top ski regions and complementary winter offers. In the summer, combination offers for year-round experiences and a steady stream of new tourism organizations will also be added to the “ÖBB Experience Portal.” The focus is on a simple, intuitive booking process for users and efficient, digital processing for all parties involved.
Clear added value for tourism
The new shop combines different pricing models, flexible ski pass options, and optional connecting transport on a single platform. This not only promotes sustainable travel by train, but also creates an attractive product for destinations and service partners.
Efficient processes through digitalization
A central component of the platform is fully digital processing: booking confirmations and travel documents are provided automatically, and ski passes are issued via QR vouchers or existing keycards. This solution reduces operational costs and improves the user experience throughout the entire customer journey.
Expandable for additional services and events
In addition to classic winter sports products, the new shop also allows the integration of additional services and event formats, such as Ski World Cup events or the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. This makes the shop flexible and expandable for future tourism products and seasonal campaigns.
